Body Tech Fitness will open it’s new gym on Wrexham Industrial Estate on Saturday (August 23) at 10am.
The company, which was established in 2013, has locations in Ellesmere Port, Winsford and Blackburn, with the Wrexham site being opened by the Mayor of Wrexham Tina Mannering.
The gym, located on Abenbury Way, is run by Liverpool-based Nicholas Whitcombe and World-Record holder Ben Haldon, who both grew up on the Wirral and are childhood friends who have been involved the fitness industry for over 15 years.

Nick met Ben when they were teenagers and say they decided to open the site in Wrexham after wanting to create more spaces that are community lead and allow people a place to go when they feel low or lonely as we clamber through a loneliness epidemic.
Ben, who is an ambassador for Movember, took on a World Record Attempt in 2023 of carrying 100lbs for 24 hours in order to raise money for Men’s Mental Health, breaking the record of former title holder and becoming one of the biggest fundraisers in the UK.

The gym has already formed partnerships with local business and champions men’s mental health and a focus on improving both physical fitness and mindset.
Ben will also be delivering men’s mental health and mindset talks to local business and working in partnership to help tackle men’s mental health in the Wrexham area.
Ahead of the opening, the pair said: “We believe in prosperity for all, which is one of the many reasons we allow personal trainers to coach for free in our facilities, which is unheard of across the industry where the standard monthly ‘rent’ exceeds £600.
“We want to empower personal trainers to uplift the health of their communities and ensure they’re able to make a sustainable living in the process. We’re strong believers that health and fitness should be endorsed to the fullest extent, not seen as something to tax.”
