Dismissing accusations that she was attempting to distract from the campaign, Quebec Premier and Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette confirmed Monday that she would pause election activities for a few hours to respond to the Canada-U.S. trade war.
But despite reports Sunday that she would spend all day away from the trail, Fréchette is scheduled to spend most of Monday campaigning.
“As you can see, I’m in action. I’m on the ground,” Fréchette said Monday morning after stepping off her campaign bus in Mirabel.
