Four teenagers are dead after a two-vehicle collision near Winnipeg Beach Sunday night that also sent four Winnipeg residents to hospital.
Gimli RCMP responded to the collision at the intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 229 at about 9:15 p.m. on Sept. 6.
Police said a westbound vehicle on Highway 229 was crossing Highway 8 when it was struck by a southbound van. The intersection has stop signs for eastbound and westbound traffic.

Both vehicles entered the southwest ditch after the collision. One of the vehicles rolled and came to rest on its roof.
The four teenagers in the westbound vehicle were gravely injured and died at the scene.
The victims were an 18-year-old Winnipeg woman who was driving, an 18-year-old Gimli man, an 18-year-old Sandy Hook woman, and a 17-year-old boy from Ear Falls, Ont.
Four Winnipeg residents were travelling in the van, including the 49-year-old man who was driving, a woman, and two children. RCMP said all four suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Winnipeg for treatment.
An RCMP Traffic Services collision reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
