Peel Regional Police oinvestigators with Major Collision Bureau have arrested and charged a 65-year-old Brampton man following a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
Police were called shortly after 5 a.m. Monday, April 13, to the intersection of Bovaird Drive and McLaughlin Road, where a pedestrian had been struck by multiple vehicles.
Investigators say the man, who is in his 20s, was initially struck by a dark blue Toyota RAV4 whose driver fled the scene. He was then struck by another passing vehicle, whose driver remained at the scene.
The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Abdillahi Farah Idere of Brampton has been charged with failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm and careless driving causing bodily harm.
