RALEIGH, N.C. – Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has signed defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph to a one-year contract. The deal will pay Joseph $850,00 for the 2026-27 season.
About Pierre-Olivier Joseph:
Joseph spent the 2025-26 season with the Vancouver Canucks, tallying six points (1g, 5a) in 31 games.
He has totaled 46 points (9g, 37a) in 225 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Vancouver.
The 27-year-old recorded 64 points (14g, 50a) and 104 penalty minutes in 138 career AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from 2019-2023.
He recorded 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points in 2021-22 with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, finishing first among club defensemen in goals, second in points and third in assists.
The 6’2”, 185-pound blueliner registered 140 points (29g, 111a) with a +47 plus/minus rating and 205 penalty minutes in 235 career QMJHL games with the Charlottetown Islanders.
The Laval, Quebec, native helped Canada win a gold medal at the 2023 IIHF World Championship.
Joseph was originally selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the first round, 23rd overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
