Seattle’s success led the Las Vegas Raiders to hire Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as its head coach, and the team tapped Brian Fleury as his play-calling replacement. This is a big jump for Fleury, who has never before worked as an offensive coordinator at any level of football, and most recently was the 49ers’ tight ends coach for the past four seasons. He also served as San Francisco’s run game coordinator last season.
Seattle will need to replace another significant offensive contributor, as well: running back Kenneth Walker. Walker ran for a team-high 1,027 yards last season en route to winning Super Bowl MVP honors. He signed with Kansas City. Defensively, the Seahawks lost safety Coby Bryant, who signed as a free agent in Chicago.
Love and Bryant are the only starters from the Super Bowl win to leave, however. Remarkably, the Seahawks bring back 20 of their 22 starters.
