Skies are expected to be mostly sunny in the Greater Toronto Area on Thursday with wind gusts up to 70 km/h possible in some parts of southern Ontario.
Environment and Climate Change Canada says the morning will be mainly sunny in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and the Niagara Falls area, with a mix of sun and cloudy conditions in Oshawa, Pickering and Hamilton.
A northwest wind will be blowing around 20 km/h with gusts up to 40 km/h in Toronto and Mississauga, and up to 50 km/h in Oshawa. Gusts could reach 60 km/h in Peterborough and 70 km/h in Alexandria.
The daytime high will be around 23 C in Mississauga, but could feel more like 26 C due to the humidity. The UV index will be 7 or “high,” the weather agency says.
Conditions are expected to be clear across the GTA and southern Ontario on Thursday evening. A northwest wind will be blowing around 20 km/h in Toronto and 30 km/h in Mississauga, becoming light in the evening hours.
The overnight low will be around 13 C, the weather agency says.
Looking ahead to Friday, skies are expected to be sunny in Mississauga with a high of 23 C that could feel more like 25 C due to the humidity, The Weather Network says. Friday evening will bring clear skies to the GTA and a low of around 12 C, Environment Canada says.
Rainy weather could return on the weekend. Saturday will bring a high of 25 C, a mix of sun and clouds and a 40 per cent chance of showers in the evening. Sunday will also see mixed conditions with a 30 per cent chance of showers during the day and a high of 25 C.
