Speaking of Wildlife to mark 10 years with ‘A wild decade’ event in Severn

Speaking of Wildlife in Severn will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a public event featuring wildlife ambassadors, guided tours and family activities

SEVERN, ONT. — Speaking of Wildlife will host a celebratory event, A Wild Decade, on Sept. 13, 2026, offering families an opportunity to meet wildlife ambassadors, enjoy family-friendly activities, learn about local wildlife, and help support the permanent animal residents in their care. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Speaking of Wildlife.

The event features two guided tours, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Additional activities include face painting, photo-ops, educational displays, sweet treats and a gift shop. Donations are appreciated.

“Building this facility and watching it grow over the past 10 years has been incredibly rewarding. This event is a way for our team to celebrate what we’ve created here – a home for animals with unique and specialized long-term care needs and a place where people can connect with nature and wildlife.” Krystal Hewitt, SOW’s Director of Operations, said. “We can’t wait to share our little wildlife centre with visitors on Sunday”.
