Curbs across the city will be lined with everything from furniture to clothing this weekend as Winnipeggers offer up their unwanted items for free.
People can put things they no longer want — but are still in good condition — out on the curb on your front street, with each item tagged with a “free” sticker or sign, the city says on its website.

The city says people should not put out items that have bedbugs, toilets with a flush volume of 13 litres or more, or items Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Bureau warns aren’t safe to give away, such as baby walkers or lawn darts.
Leftover items that don’t find new homes this weekend have to be removed from the curb by dusk on Sunday, the city says.

Large items, such as furniture or mattresses, that aren’t snapped up during Giveaway Weekend won’t be picked up with regular garbage collection, the city says. Winnipeggers can schedule a large item pickup for these things.
