More than 100 people gathered on Saturday morning at Kildonan Park for the ‘Walk to make HIM known Walkathon’.
The morning kicked off with prayer, worship, and messages from several local ministry leaders.
Hosted by Canadian Lifelight Ministries/ Bibles for Today, donations were collected to raise money to distribute Scripture in the Philippines.

A global vision
Event organizers shared the global vision behind hosting the event.
“We want to make Jesus known not just here in Canada but in the Philippines,” says Alma Lubos, Emcee of the Walkathon.
Founder and President of Canadian Lifelight Ministries, Raymond Dueck shared his excitement about seeing people participate in the event.
“It’s so good to see them just being so happy to be able to contribute to the purchase and publication of Scriptures around Canada and in the Philippines.
The heart of the ministry
Canadian Lifelight Ministries has a 30-year history of distributing free Bibles to those in need.
“We purchase Bibles from the printers and distributors and connect to the missions, food banks, outreaches, and whoever needs them,” says Dan Dueck, Canadian Lifelight Ministries Representative.
The organization aims to make the Bible accessible, even if the readers are not native English speakers.
Dueck shares, “We expanded into different study Bibles, Bibles in different languages.”
