Upcoming free event explores how education, exercise and physiotherapy can help you move with confidence while living with osteoarthritis
Living with hip or knee osteoarthritis doesn’t have to mean giving up on the activities you enjoy. Staying active, building strength and learning how to manage symptoms can all play an important role in maintaining mobility and quality of life.
SooToday SPACES is partnering with Aline Wellness for an upcoming networking event on Wednesday, September 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Canopy at Village Media, where attendees can learn more about GLA:D® (Good Life with osteoArthritis in Denmark) — an evidence-based education and exercise program designed for people living with hip or knee osteoarthritis.
The program combines education, individualized exercise and physiotherapy support to help participants improve strength, mobility, function and confidence with movement.
At Aline Wellness, GLA:D® includes an initial physiotherapy assessment followed by 12 supervised exercise sessions over six weeks, along with education on osteoarthritis, exercise and symptom management. Exercises focus on strength, balance, control and everyday functional movements, and can be adapted to each participant’s abilities and goals.
GLA:D® may be beneficial for people looking to reduce pain, improve strength and function, stay active with osteoarthritis, prepare for a hip or knee replacement or potentially delay the need for surgery.
