Michael J. Fox received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for his contributions towards Parkinson’s disease advocacy at the 2026 Emmys.
The honor was introduced by Fox’s former “The Good Wife” co-star, Julianne Margulies.
Fox, who has Parkinson’s, got a standing ovation from the audience as he came out on stage in a wheelchair to accept the award.
The “Back to the Future” actor thanked Margulies and the TV Academy “for this amazing and humbling honor,” to which the audience cheered.
Fox said he’s “proud of the progress we’ve made to benefit Parkinson’s,” adding, “We move closer to eradicating this disease forever.”
Mariska Hargitay, who’s also an executive producer of the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, handled hosting duties at the show, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, airing live at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Sally Field and Reba McEntire paid respect to the legendary Dolly Parton at the 2026 Emmys, just weeks after the country icon’s death.
The heartfelt musical tribute saw an introduction from Field, Parton’s “Steel Magnolias” co-star, and McEntire, one of Parton’s fellow country music superstars.
In the introduction, Field recalled working with Parton in their 1989 film, which also starred Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis and Daryl Hannah.

“Over the years, I never stopped loving her,” Field gushed, praising Parton’s “blistering sense of humor” and admitting that she couldn’t see then what a “giant” she was at the time.
McEntire took the stage in a sparkling white dress, performing Parton’s emotional song “Appalachian Memories” accompanied by a live symphony.
