Winnipeg fire crews battled a fire that was caused by an explosion at an apartment building just before noon on Wednesday.
WFPS says firefighters responded to the two-storey apartment building along Clare Avenue at 11:57 a.m. on Sept. 16, after receiving a report of an explosion.
When they arrived, crews noticed damage to the building before conducting a hazard assessment and battling the blaze, which had started as a result of the explosion.
The building was evacuated for precautionary reasons, and WFPS notes that one person was assessed at the scene by paramedics, but was not taken to a hospital.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation, but at this time, it is believed to be accidental.
