With the playoffs fast approaching in the WNBA, the predictions are starting to come in.
The Minnesota Lynx are setting the pace at 31-9, but right on their heels, the Golden State Valkyries sit second at 29-11 behind a four-game win streak, while the Las Vegas Aces remain dangerous at 27-13.
A crowded middle tier features the Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever locked together at 26-14, followed by the New York Liberty, Washington Mystics, and Dallas Wings all tied at 24-16 in the top eight.
Outside looking in, Portland and Chicago sit just off the playoff line.

Tina Thompson warns the WNBA about the Golden State Valkyries
A legendary four-time champion and elite scorer, Hall of Famer Tina Thompson remains one of the most respected voices and iconic figures in women’s basketball history.
And she’s made her predictions for the upcoming playoffs, with a special shoutout to the Golden State Valkyries, who currently sit second in the WNBA.
Speaking on the Cousins podcast, she said: “I always say Minnesota is always they always have to be an option because for the longest time now they’re like in, you know, the top three and most of the time they’re one, you know, so they literally have the opportunity to kind of always win.
“I think the surprising team is the Valkyrie, man. They just get so good. I love that so much. They play so hard and they’re so blue collar and they’re such a well coached team, too. Oh my gosh. You can just tell that they really care, you know, about each other and they really like dig each other and I think that those are the best kinds of teams. So, they’re a problem. Like, as much as people are not respecting them, they’re number two.”

Forward Gabby Williams serves as the spark for Golden State, leading the team with 14.3 points and 1.6 steals per game. Point guard Veronica Burton keeps the offense humming with 12.3 points and 5.8 assists nightly, while French forward Janelle Salaun and veteran anchor Kiah Stokes lock down the interior.
They’re arguably the most well-rounded team in the WNBA, with contributions from all areas, rather than the bulk of the scoring being done by one players.
