Trade war with U.S. putting 30,000 Quebec jobs at risk, Fréchette says

STE-MARIE — The Quebec government estimates 60 companies employing 30,000 workers are threatened by the trade war with the United States.

But the number of jobs that could actually be lost would be lower than 30,000.

After being asked for the number several times in the last few days, including in Tuesday’s TVA debate, Coalition Avenir Québec leader and incumbent premier Christine Fréchette produced one Thursday.
