One woman was sent to hospital with what police described as “critical injuries” after a collision between a semi-truck with a loaded trailer and a Honda Civic in Surrey Friday evening (Sept. 18).
Emergency crews responded to the crash at the intersection of 176 Street and 32 Ave around 8 p.m.
The female driver of the Honda was taken to hospital with “critical injuries,” and the semi-truck driver did not have any injuries, Surrey Police said in a news release Saturday (Sept. 19).
Police said the Honda was “significantly damaged,” while the semi-truck had only “minor front-end damage.”
The Surrey Police collision investigation unit is looking into the crash and, at this stage, does not believe that alcohol was “a contributing factor.” Police closed the intersection for “several hours” while they investigated, but it has reopened.
Police ask any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have any information, including dashcam footage, to please call Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-100398 (SP).
