Vince Russo didn’t mince words on his latest rant—he believes Tony Khan has a rare shot to shift the wrestling landscape, and it all comes down to Karrion Kross.
The outspoken former WWE writer claimed that if AEW doesn’t move fast, they’ll blow the one opportunity that could actually steal viewers from WWE. Russo said Kross is not just another name off WWE’s cut list. He pointed to past signings like Rusev but argued Kross brings something different—something AEW has been missing.
“I don’t think Tony Khan has had this type of opportunity with any other guy they released. You know, like Rusev and all the guys they released. This is the guy that if you took right now, strapped a rocket to him, man—AEW could make a little bit of noise. Bro, I swear to God, if I was Tony Khan, man, freaking hire Kross and make him the man. Revolve everything around [him]. They can steal WWE viewers by doing that, bro. Without a shadow of a doubt.”
He pushed that message hard throughout the episode, stressing that Kross’s unique look and energy could give AEW the presentation edge they desperately need.
But Russo also addressed the elephant in the room—whether Kross is even available. As rumors swirl about a possible WWE work, he explained why Khan might be staying on the sidelines.
“If he’s not working, Tony Khan is not reaching out to him because Tony Khan—if it is a work—Tony Khan doesn’t want to get involved in the legalities. So these guys can work and think they’re getting over on people. The bottom line is they’re screwing themselves.”
Russo’s message? AEW needs to act now, or risk letting WWE off the hook.
