Two bears, including a young cub, wandered into a Hope pharmacy Sunday afternoon (Sept. 20) and the event was caught on camera.
A large bear was videoed walking on all fours up and down the aisles, and also resting its head on a pharmacy counter.
A small cub scrambled behind the larger bear in the video, which was shared on local Facebook groups.
There is audio of someone starting to place a call to 911, explaining there are two bears in the Hope Pharmasave, as the bears activate the doors to leave.
Crazy video of mama bear and cub that walked into a Pharmasave store in Hope today. Apparently wandered in through automatic doors and looked around for a bit. (Video: Rob Eves via Facebook). @CHWKcommunity pic.twitter.com/XnfgM2IcK1

Witnesses said both bears were tranquilized by a conservation officer after they left the Hope Pharmasave. RCMP also attended.
There has been a flurry of bear activity and interactions in Hope recently, and videos have been posted showing a bear and a cub running along the side of Old Hope Princeton Highway, trying to find a break in the fence to escape into the woods.
After those videos were posted, Lydia Koot from the Hope Black Bear Committee posted publicly that a young bear had been killed by a car.
There have no been any injuries from bears reported to this media outlet.
