Ticket sales for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal, which had been scheduled to open on Thursday, have been postponed, race organizers said Wednesday afternoon.

The sale of tickets to the general public will now begin later this fall, race promoter Bell GPCanada said in an email sent out less than 24 hours before ticket sales had been set to begin.

Describing the postponement as a “brief delay,” Bell GPCanada said it needs the time to “put the finishing touches on key elements.”

“The launch of the general public sale has been postponed to finalize a more complete event program and enhance the fan experience,” Sandrine Garneau, chief operating officer, brand and strategy at Bell GPCanada, said in the email.

The race will take still take place in May 2027, as scheduled, the promoter said.
