Although temperatures are expected to cool slightly, that doesn’t mean we won’t see prairie rattlesnakes in the River Valley in the short-term.

The City of Lethbridge is reminding hikers and runners to keep a close eye on our belly-slithering friends as they, too, prepare for winter.

Many, the City says, are still out on the trails and in the bushes in the Coulees and forests, with some even making their way into residential neighbourhoods.

Should you encounter a rattlesnake – remain calm and back away slowly and keep in mind rattlesnakes, like you, try to avoid contact.
