Every child matters: Totest Aleng hosts Saturday event

Every child matters. Every day.
Everyone is invited to drop by Totest Aleng: Indigenous Learning House (13723 Crescent Rd.) in Surrey to learn about the orange T-shirt, a symbol of Indigenous resilience.
You’re invited to share what ‘every child matters’ means to you on a paper T-shirt and hang it in the pavilion to inspire others.
Inspired by Phyllis Webstad’s story of having her orange shirt taken away on her first day at Indian residential school, Orange Shirt Day uplifts the voices of survivors and invites all people in Canada to walk the path of truth and reconciliation together.
The final in a series of Saturday sessions is set for this weekend – Saturday, Sept. 26 from noon to 4 p.m.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is marked annually on Sept. 30.
