For Tennessee soccer, confidence is at a high.
The Lady Vols have shown off their strong start to this season with a beginning similar to their run in 2023. With both years, up to now, they show similar benchmarks like the beginning shutouts and 12 goals at the first three matches.
Also, with the team recently being ranked No. 6 in league rankings, fans are curious as to what comes next for the program and what they can continue to bring moving forward.
Most recently, Tennessee collected its third win of the season, continuing its steady undefeated win streak. This start has proved to be an exciting run for the team with particular players making impressive gains so far.
How to watch Lady Vols soccer
Tennessee and Loyola Marymount kick off at 7 p.m. ET in Los Angeles. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
Start to California road-trip
Tennessee’s most recent win came from the take down of No. 4 UCLA, marking the first victory against the Bruins in program history since their first meeting in 2011. The final score was 1-0, with the single goal earned by redshirt junior Shae O’Rourke. This marked her fourth goal this season, and third straight scoring match.
“Hopefully we can keep doing it because we’re a great team together,” O’Rourke told the SEC Network crew after the win. “We just take every game at a time, and we win one game and then figure out the next.”
Upcoming clash vs. Lions
The Lady Vols will stay in Los Angeles for their next game at LMU against the Lions. This will be the first meeting of the two teams in each programs’ history.
So far this season, the Lions are also undefeated, with a 1-0 record after conquering the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos by one goal, finishing 2-1. Last season, LMU finished with the season 11-5-2, with a conference record of 5-3-2.
