After finishing first in the standings with a perfect 4-0 record and plus-63 point differential, the Raptors fell 98-88 to the Sacramento Kings in the semifinals.
Toronto trailed by as many as 22 points in the third quarter, yet went on a 32-11 run to bring the score within one in the fourth.
Jamal Shead led the Raptors with 24 points and 12 assists, repetitively getting into the paint with quick drives.
The starting point guard was most effective inside the the arc – finishing 7-of-10 from two-point range and spraying out passes to shooters – but did hit triple off a handoff to make the score 81-80 in the final frame.
Ja’Kobe Walter scored 19 points on 5-of-12 shooting and Jamison Battle and Alijah Martin added 10 apiece.
Isaac Jones, who joined the Kings on a two-way contract as an undrafted free agent in 2024, scored a game-high 36.
Walter and Martin each grabbed three steals, accounting for half of the Raptors 12 total, coming in under the 14.8 they averaged in Summer League prior to the playoffs.
Sacramento had only 19 turnovers, the lowest of any of Toronto’s opponents in the competition. The Raptors forced 117 turnovers and scored 135 points as a result in the previous four games.
AJ Lawson, who led the Summer League Raptors in scoring with 18.5 points per game, was out with a hip strain.
It was the first time the Raptors made the Summer League playoffs since 2018, led by a team that included six players who were in Toronto’s rotation last season: Shead, Walter, Battle, Lawson, Jonathan Mogbo and Colin Castleton along with 2025 draft picks Collin Murray-Boyles and Martin.
