Andreas Englund is heading to Motown.
Englund, 30, signed with the Flames on a one-year, two-way deal this past off-season after spending the previous two years with the Nashville Predators.
He played one game with Calgary this pre-season, lacing up for 17:35 in Thursday’s loss to the Seattle Kraken. The left-shot blue-liner also got into a fight and took three shots on goal.
The eight-year NHL veteran played just three games with Nashville in the 2025-26 season.
Over 200 career games with Nashville, Los Angeles, Chicago, Colorado and Ottawa, Englund has two goals, 20 points and a minus-26 rating.
After 61 players were placed on waivers on Friday, Englund was one of two claims Saturday, per Friedman. The Predators also claimed defenceman William Trudeau from the New York Rangers.
