The Indiana Fever have named Caitlin Clark on their injury report before Game 1 of the 2026 WNBA Playoffs first round against the Las Vegas Aces.

The Fever’s slight missteps after the FIBA break saw them fall from No. 5 in the standings to No. 6, getting jumped by the Washington Mystics and losing the race to No. 4 against the Atlanta Dream.

The Fever will face the reigning champions Aces in the first round. They are underdogs, and their odds seem worse after seeing Clark named on their injury report.

Caitlin Clark listed with back injury on Fever injury report

The Fever shared their September 26 injury report and named Clark as probable for Game 1 against the Aces on September 27 with a back injury.

“Status Report for tomorrow’s game against Las Vegas: Caitlin Clark – Probable (back). Aliyah Boston – Questionable (right lower leg). Damiris Dantas – NWT (left knee). Ty Harris – NWT (left lower leg).”

Clark has intermittently been listed with back issues on the Fever’s injury report since July, as she has clearly been playing through this injury.

The fact that she is still being listed with that injury in the postseason is a slight concern, as any aggravation could easily lead to an absence.

Clark averaged 20.5 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds over the last four games, averaging 29.5 minutes per game. It seems she will likely play, barring any setback before the Sunday afternoon clash.

Caitlin Clark’s status is not the Fever’s biggest issue before Game 1

While Clark will presumably play through her back injury with her probable listing, Aliyah Boston being questionable is a major worry.

MORE INDIANA FEVER STORIES

Boston is averaging 16.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game, and is the Fever’s prime frontcourt defensive presence.

She will be A’ja Wilson’s on-court matchup, and the Fever likely will not be able to contain Wilson without Boston on the court.

While the Clark and Kelsey Mitchell backcourt can outscore any team in the WNBA, the Fever’s chances of stopping the Aces are considerably worse if Boston misses Game 1.
