The Oshawa Centre temporarily closed Monday due to an unexpected issue.
The centre described the problem as a “water-related issue” on Monday morning, which closed the entire mall.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as our team works to resolve the issue safely and as quickly as possible,” the mall said on social media.
The mall didn’t provide further details on the issue.
A photo posted on Reddit showed water flowing out of a fire hydrant in the parking lot opposite the Dollarama.
People speculated that it was a water main issue. Others said the mall had no water.
When shoppers arrived on Monday, a sign was posted on the doors.
“They were asking everyone to leave,” one person said on Reddit.
Oshawa Centre officials said they would post updates on social media.
