Golden State took command of Game 1 with a huge second quarter, outscoring Dallas 37-11 on the way to a 104-80 win, the franchise’s first playoff victory. Cecilia Zandalasini scored 22 points, Tiffany Hayes added 21 off the bench and Gabby Williams finished with 20 as the Valkyries went 18-for-36 (50%) on their three-pointers. Golden State also committed just four turnovers and now has a chance to close out the series on the road.
Dallas will need a much better supporting effort around Paige Bueckers, who scored 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting in her postseason debut. Maddy Siegrist and Kitija Laksa each added 11 points, while Arike Ogunbowale scored 10, but the Wings fell behind by 27 points at halftime and never recovered. Dallas now returns home needing a win to force a deciding Game 3 in San Francisco.
This is a great WNBA matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
