A patient who was being assessed at a Montreal hospital over concerns about a possible Ebola infection has been taken out of isolation after the risk was ruled out.
“The CHUM (the University of Montreal Hospital Centre) has confirmed that the patient’s isolation, in connection with Ebola, has been lifted,” said Ellen Caracas, a senior media relations adviser for the hospital. “Consequently, the Ebola protocols will not be activated.”
Caracas had earlier said precautionary measures had affected some ambulance arrivals while the patient was being assessed. The hospital remained open throughout.
