With 66 people looking for votes, a Surrey council candidates forum will be busy in Guildford tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 6).
The public meeting, co-hosted by Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade and South Asian Business Association of BC, is held at Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel starting at 6 p.m.
Not all 66 council candidates will attend, we’re told, but a conservative guess is 40 or more will show up at 15269 104 Ave., Surrey.
The hotel ballroom has space for around 300 voters to attend tonight’s meeting, with registration still active on swrbot.com.
Those who can’t be there can watch on the board of trade’s Youtube channel, to which video will be uploaded overnight (not live-streamed).
A debate involving seven candidates for Surrey mayor is on Wednesday night (Oct. 7, 6 p.m.) at the hotel in Guildford, with video uploaded the next day for all to watch.
SWRBOT’s Youtube channel now has video of White Rock council and mayor all-candidate meetings held Sept. 21-22 at White Rock Community Centre.
In Surrey and White Rock, civic election advance voting starts Wednesday, Oct. 7, with final voting day on Oct. 17.
