The Okanagan Basin Water Board, Okanagan Nation Alliance and the Canadian Water Resources Association are ready to talk all things water at the third event in the Environmental Flows Conference.

From Oct. 7-9, experts in water will be gathered at Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna to discuss water scarcity, drought, and access for people while balancing healthy rivers, fish and ecosystems.

The event will centre on the theme of ‘Siwɬkʷ (water) For All – Our Responsibility’.

Keynote speakers at the event are coming from across North America and includes Okanagan Nation Alliance’s Zoe Eyjolfson, a fluvial geomorphologist, and Westbank First Nation Councillor Jordan Coble.

Topics to be discussed include policy and licensing, Indigenous knowledge, and collaborative leadership.

The conference series, Environmental Flows, began in 2018 and brings together water management experts, First Nations leaders and policymakers from across Canada.
