Oleksandr Usyk calmy took care of Daniel Dubois via fifth-round knockout earlier today (Sat., July 19, 2025) from inside Wembley Stadium in London, England, and then shared a tense post-fight staredown with social media influencer (and I guess professional boxer) Jake Paul.
Saturday’s main event clash with Dubois was another chance for Usyk to prove he’s the best heavyweight boxer in the world. Their first fight was an interesting one to say the least, but a contest that Usyk won with a knockout in the ninth round. Some thought Dubois’ momentum and punching power could be a problem for the 38-year-old champion this time around, but Usyk was on his game.
In the fifth round, the two heavyweights were mixing it up and Usyk countered with an incredible left hook. Dubois went crashing to the canvas and was unable to return to his feet. Usyk walked off with the knockout win and became boxing’s undisputed heavyweight champion for the third time.
After the fight, Paul was brought into the ring to share a faceoff with Usyk. The two have publicly hinted at a potential fight in the future (both in boxing and MMA), but few expected a staredown inside the ring on Saturday. Its unknown at this time if a matchup between the two is in the works, but that would be quite interesting.
