Islam Dulatov made a monstrous Octagon debut earlier tonight (Sat., July 19, 2025) at UFC 318 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, La., putting a violent stop to welterweight Adam Fugitt with a first-round knockout (punches).
After putting together an incredible outing on Dana White’s Contender Series back in Oct. 2024, this was supposed to be Dulatov’s coming out party. Fugitt is not a great all-around fighter and was going to give “The Ripper” multiple chances to find a home for a finish. That’s exactly what Dulatov did to put the UFC’s jam-packed welterweight division on notice.
After a few minutes of action which saw Dulatov land heavy kicks to the body and long strikes from range, “Ripper” was able to land a beautiful check left hook that instantly put Fugitt out and sent him crashing to the canvas. Dulatov jumped on top for brutal ground-and-pound and actually woke Fugitt back up with punches before putting him out again.
It was an incredible performance by Dulatov who has now won 12-straight fights all by way of knockout or submission. Check out his work from Saturday below:
