Did you know that under the right conditions, a lion’s roar can be heard up to 5 miles away? Hannah Stitfall is a wildlife filmmaker and TV presenter, and while out filming recently, she spotted a tiny lion cub practicing his roar, and it’s the cutest thing you’ll hear today.
The clip starts with her saying she was filming Simba from The Lion King learning how to roar, and his little practice roars will make you smile. If you’re like us, you’ll probably watch it more than once because it’s almost impossible NOT to!
We loved what Hannah shared in the caption: “Even the biggest roars have to start somewhere. The cutest little lion cub!” We have a feeling it won’t be long before that adorable becomes much louder and deeper… and scary!

Viewers Can’t Get Enough of That Tiny Roar
Viewers were also delighted to listen to the tiny lion cub practice roars. One commenter joked, “I have zero survival instincts. I want to kiss him on the mouth.” @amoreenterno added, “I would literally squeeze this baby.”
@Rina asked the question we were all wondering: “If not pet, why pet shaped?”
Commenter @CrashandBurn shared, “About 1km from my house, there is a reservation with lions. When the wind blows in the right direction, I can hear them roar. Even after 15 years, it gives me goosebumps.”
This lion cub’s tiny roar may not shake the savanna yet, but he’s clearly practicing for the day it will!
