He’s going to get to know Vancouver over eight days.
Bruno Mars is coming to Vancouver, and he’s staying for a minute.
The pint-sized pop star is playing five shows at BC Place over eight days. His current Romantic Tour has had several similar stops, setting up for a week at a time. Local fans might want to keep an eye out for him around the city.
The quintet of shows weren’t all announced at once. The Oct. 14 show was first, then the next three and then finally the Oct. 21 show was added.
The tour is Mars’s first time here in nearly a decade. The last time he was in Vancouver was a pair of shows at Rogers Arena in 2017.
Opening for all five shows is British R&B singer Raye, who’s been around for a decade but experienced her biggest hits in the last few years with “Prada” and “Where is My Husband.” This will be her second trip to Vancouver this year, after she headlined her own tour with a stop at UBC in the spring.
Frequent Mars collaborator Anderson .Paak will also be opening the shows in his alter ego, DJ Pee .Wee.
Pop-up store
A pop-up store is planned for Vancouver, but a location has not been announced yet.
The store will feature exclusive Bruno Mars and Hello Kitty merch.
Tickets
While there are resale tickets available for all shows, most of them are resale tickets as BC Place is mostly sold out for the first three shows. But the final show, which was the last one announced, has a significant number of tickets still available in the lower bowl and on the floor.
The cheapest lower bowl seats are going for $252 before fees. For those willing to skip eating for the next little while, front-row resale tickets are running about $2,000 each.
Transportation
As of publication, TransLink did not list any significant alerts for SkyTrain or SeaBus service during the shows.
Hullo Ferries does have some late-night sailings planned for dates during Mars’s stint in Vancouver, on Oct. 16, 17 and 20 (the middle three shows). Tickets are still available for all three trips.
Restrictions
BC Place has a firm bag policy, with bags no larger than 6.5 inches by 8.5 inches allowed, unless they are transparent bags. Clear bags are allowed to be one foot by one foot by six inches.
Staff will be outside alerting people to the bag size restrictions and directing people with larger bags to a bag check, which costs $10 and must be done before entering the stadium.
Exceptions can be made for medically necessary bags.
Certain items are prohibited, including large cameras with detachable lenses, posters and signs, drones, outside food, selfie sticks, and large bottles (even empty).
Cashless venue
BC Place is a cashless venue, so be sure to bring a different way to pay. Cash is no longer king in the stadium.
