What began as a chance encounter during a walk has evolved into an unlikely companionship that has taken one Kingston woman and an injured monarch butterfly to concerts, community events, road trips and even the National Gallery of Canada.
For nearly a month, Laura Geier said the butterfly, which she named September, has rarely left her side.
“I put out my hand and it crawled onto my finger, then onto my hand, up my arm, and settled on my shoulder,” Geier said. “I continued my walk and it never left.”
