So much transfer season! Giulio Ciccone is going to Pinarello 36.5. Filippo Ganna to Lidl-Trek. And now, one of the biggest names in the women’s peloton these past few years has a new home for next year.

Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig will join Uno-X Mobility Cycling in 2027. The Danish ace is hoping a change of scenery will help her get back to her best.

2 years with Uno-X

The 31-year-old pro has signed a two-year contract with the Norwegian-Danish team after several challenging seasons.

A few years ago, you saw her, clad in the Danish national champs jersey, clean up in the Women’s WorldTour.

She was a Tour de France Femmes stage winner and 2023 world championship bronze medallist, but since then, she hasn’t had quite the same spark. But still, Ludwig brings plenty of experience to a squad looking to build on its recent progress.

Coming home to Scandinavia

“I am incredibly excited to put on the Uno-X jersey. In a way, it feels like coming home to my Scandinavian roots,” Ludwig said. “The last couple of years have been difficult in many ways, so it means a lot to me to step into an environment where I feel a sense of calm and a real belief in what we can achieve.”

For the last several years, Ludwig has been one of the greats in women’s cycling. Her biggest victories include a memorable stage win at the 2022 Tour de France Femmes, where she beat Marianne Vos in an uphill sprint in Épernay. It was one of the best finishes at the inaugural event.

She has also won the Tour of Scandinavia, taken two dubs at Giro dell’Emilia and claimed a stage at the Santos Tour Down Under. In 2023, she added a world championship bronze medal in Glasgow to her palmarès.

Racing style and work ethic mesh

The Dane has also finished on the podium at Strade Bianche and La Flèche Wallonne. They are both aces that suit her punchy climbing and aggressive style.

“She has the drive, motivation and dedication to become the best version of herself, and her work ethic aligns really well with Uno-X,” Uno-X head of sports Anna Badegruber said.

Ludwig is equally keen on the team’s approach to racing, which she said was an important part of her decision.

“I love the way Uno-X races. With a huge heart and plenty of courage,” she said. “It feels like the right match, and I can hardly wait to get started, race with the girls and begin the next chapter.”

There’s lots of transfers going on this week–and more to come. And even though the 2026 season is coming to a close, 2027 looks like it’s going to be a banger with some of the riders landing at new homes for the season.
