The popstar is playing five shows this week.
BC Place won’t be the only place to hear Bruno Mars this week.
The pop star is lending his 24-karat voice to TransLink during his Vancouver stint of five concerts this week. He’ll be heard on show days at Stadium-Chinatown Station, which is a short walk from BC Place.
“A special announcement featuring Bruno Mars’ voice will play periodically at the station on concert days from Oct. 14 to 21, alongside regular station announcements,” reads a press release from TransLink.
There are two announcements that’ll play at the station.
“To everybody taking the train, it’s Bruno Mars,” says the singer in one. “I can’t wait to see you all. It’s about to get real romantic tonight. I love you.”
The second one is similar, with Mars thanking fans for going to the show.
Mars is the first singer on the list of famous voices on the SkyTrain system, joining local icons Christine Sinclair and Seth Rogen.
The announcements are actually a source of ad revenue for TransLink.
“It’s a unique way to brighten someone’s trip while generating additional revenue that helps support transit service across the region,” says TransLInk CEO Kevin Quinn.
