Residents across parts of the Greater Toronto Area are waking up to near-freezing temperatures this morning, with some areas expected to reach the freezing mark.
A frost warning is in effect for Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and surrounding areas as temperatures drop sharply early this morning.

The coldest conditions are expected north of Highway 401, where temperatures are forecast to fall to around 0 C.
Areas closer to Lake Ontario should remain slightly warmer, with temperatures expected to stay a few degrees above freezing due to the moderating influence of the lake.
The sudden cold could cause damage to plants, trees and crops that are sensitive to freezing temperatures.
Residents with gardens or outdoor plants are being advised to take preventative measures to protect anything vulnerable to the cold.
Cold-sensitive plants can be covered or moved indoors where possible, while gardeners and growers should take precautions to protect crops from potential frost damage.
Frost can form when surface temperatures fall below freezing, even when the measured air temperature remains slightly above 0 C.
