PHILADELPHIA — The 76ers have converted center Tacko Fall to a two-way contract, the team announced Saturday.
Last month, the Sixers signed the 7-foot-6 center to an Exhibit 10 deal, and injuries to the Sixers frontcourt likely led to Fall getting this spot.
Ariel Hukporti, projected to be the Sixers’ backup center, suffered a season-ending right Achilles tear in the preseason. Center Adem Bona, potentially the next man up, has been sidelined with a foot injury, and Dominick Barlow has battled back soreness that kept him out of the preseason.
Fall hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2021-22 season when he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This will be his fourth season in the NBA. He played his first two in Boston with new Sixers forward Jaylen Brown.
The 30-year-old Fall most recently played for the Ningbo Rockets of the Chinese Basketball Association.
