Two $1 million prizes were won in Canada in Saturday night’s Lotto 6/49 draw, while another ticket landed a prize worth more than $222,000.
The Lotto 6/49 draw on Saturday, Oct. 17 produced thousands of cash prizes across the Classic, Gold Ball and Encore draws.
The winning Classic numbers were 05, 22, 23, 26, 29 and 37, with 48 drawn as the bonus number.
One ticket matched five of the six main numbers plus the bonus number to win $222,898.40.
There were 148,565 cash-winning tickets in the Classic draw. The $5-million Classic jackpot, which requires matching all six main numbers, was not won.
The Gold Ball Draw also produced a $1-million prize.
The winning Gold Ball selection was 55953864-01, with one ticket holder winning $1 million.
In Lotto 6/49’s Gold Ball Draw, a winning selection is guaranteed every draw. The prize is determined by whether a white ball or the Gold Ball is drawn. A white ball is worth $1 million, while drawing the Gold Ball awards the growing Gold Ball jackpot.
Saturday’s winning selection received the $1-million prize, meaning the Gold Ball jackpot remains up for grabs.

The next Gold Ball jackpot is estimated at $26 million, with 22 balls remaining.
Another $1-million prize was awarded through Encore.
The winning Encore number for the Oct. 17 draw was 9426337, with one ticket matching all seven digits in the exact order to win $1 million.
Two additional Encore tickets matched the last six digits, 426337, with each ticket worth $100,000.
That means the two $100,000 Encore prizes combined for another $200,000 in major winnings from Saturday night’s draw.
Lotto 6/49 includes two draws each draw night: the Classic Draw and the Gold Ball Draw. The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5-million jackpot, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a winning selection every draw.
