The BC Lions are looking for a star in the stands during next month’s matchup against the Ottawa Redblacks.
As the team continues to fight for a spot in the CFL playoffs, they are once again giving fans a unique reason to show up to the football field. While the Lions have managed to bring in big crowds with multiple concerts at games (including Snoop Dogg at the season opener), it appears they are trying a different approach now.
The Lions announced that on September 12, they will be hosting a Pamela Anderson look-a-like contest at Terry Fox Plaza outside of BC Place.

To an outsider, this may appear to be a random selection, but choosing Pamela Anderson was a deliberate choice by the football club. The iconic Canadian actress was actually discovered at a Lions game in 1989, at the age of 21.
She recently told the story to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show about how the Jumbotron camera caught her wearing a Labatt’s beer crop top. This led to her becoming the company’s “beer girl,” which she then parlayed into a long career in the entertainment industry.
“I was at a football game,” Anderson told Fallon, “I was at a BC Lions game, and I had a Labatt’s T-shirt on and the cameraman zoomed in on me and put me up on the Jumbotron… and then people called and Playboy called and I came to LA.
“It was my first plane ride.”
This story was even recreated on the big screen in the 2023 Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story.
That won’t be the only thing going on at the game, as the Lions are also hosting Campus Clash, in which three random fans will be selected to compete on the field for a chance at $10,000.
There will also be a giant game of flip cup happening, as well as a frat wedding, which has free admission.
Fans wanting to get in on the action can buy tickets to the game on Ticketmaster.
