Olivia Rodrigo has released a second music video for the “expectations” single featuring Chappell Roan, available exclusively on Spotify.

Titled “expectations (wheel of misfortune),” the video was released today (October 19). This is just a mere four days after the two generational pop stars first released the track, which has already amassed over 188 million streams on Spotify, and climbed to #4 on the Daily Global Spotify Chart.

As fans may have guessed, the “wheel of misfortune” addition to the song title comes from the Wheel of Fortune game show inspired section of the original music video.

As it’s an exclusive to Spotify, fans of both Rodrigo or Roan—so, essentially, anyone who likes 2020s pop—can access the new video through searching on Spotify. And while a Spotify Premium subscription is required for the alternate video, the original remains on Rodrigo’s YouTube channel.

The original Bardia Zeinali music video for “expectations” was referred to by Paste staff writer Laura Molloy as “Gen Z’s own ‘Telephone’ moment,” in reference to the 2010 Lady Gaga and Beyonce single and subsequent iconic music video, as well as a nod to both Rodrigo and Roan’s cultural prowess within their own generation.

In the video, Rodrigo and Roan appear as contestants across satirical recreations of old school game shows, ranging from Jeopardy!, Hollywood Squares, Family Feud, and the aforementioned Wheel of Fortune. Producer Dan Nigro, drag queen Aquaria, and glam-punk duo Venus Twins also feature within the video.

“expectations ” is not only Roan’s first appearance on a Rodrigo track, but also Rodrigo’s first ever remix. Their collaborative friendship runs deep: Roan had opened for Rodrigo on the Sour and Guts tours, and also performed at the you seem pretty sad for a girl in love singer’s Daisy Chain Fields festival this summer. They have also both worked extensively with Nigro throughout their careers.
