Billy and Sally’s Young & Restless nuptials were astonishingly drama-free for a soap wedding, aside from her Gram’s eleventh hour appearance and eyebrow-raising commentary. We made it all the way to the reception before things took a turn for the chaotic… and it’s only going to more intense from here.
Up in the bridal suite, Adam surprised Sally, who was planning a romantic gesture for Billy. He wanted to give her his best wishes privately, but the surprise, as it turned out, was on him. Sally went into labor and her water broke, all but cementing our prediction that Adam will deliver Sally’s baby.
Meanwhile, in yet another shocking twist, Billy and Cane were summoned onto a three-way call with Jill’s doctor brother, Snapper, who relayed that the firebrand, who was missing the wedding to have tests done, had suffered a cardiac event. We’re not sure why Cane was on the call and not her sister, Lauren, but that’s a gripe for another time.
The takeaway is that the rare Monday cliffhanger left fans wondering not only what would go down upstairs in the bridal suite, but whether we were witnessing the lead up to the death of an iconic Young & Restless character offscreen.
Will Jill die? Here’s our thoughts on the matter…
It’s possible that her medical emergency is a plot point devised so as to leave her so close to death’s door that Billy will have no choice but to leave Sally and their newborn and fly immediately to London, potentially setting up a scenario where Adam and Sally grow closer as he acts protectively toward her while his nemesis is away.
The heart-stopping plot twist with Jill may also be a precursor to her being so frightened by the close call that she drops a bomb on Billy that changes everything for him. In fact, both scenarios could be true.
We refuse to even consider the possibility that Young & Restless would kill off Jill Foster Abbott over the phone, and so should you, SOAPS readers. With that said, it appears that her cardiac event will prove to be a twist that could change everything for Billy and Sally… one way or another.
