About 100 Montreal firefighters were deployed after a fire broke out Monday evening in the commercial-residential building housing the Duc de Lorraine restaurant.

Montreal fire department section chief Francis Fleury said the blaze broke out at about 8 p.m. outside the three-storey building on Côte-des-Neiges Rd. and Frère-André St. and while the investigation into the blaze is ongoing, there was nothing to immediately indicate the fire was criminal in nature.

There were no injuries reported and the extent of damage to the building has yet to be determined, although Fleury noted that smoke and water damage usually occur during a fire of this size.
