If Quebec wants to avoid the kind of social unrest and violent rioting going on in France, Québec solidaire’s Ruba Ghazal says the new Parti Québécois government must invest in the province’s public services and social safety net.
Ghazal, who is co-spokesperson for the party, made the comments at a press conference in Quebec City, following the swearing-in ceremony for the nine QS members elected to the National Assembly on Oct. 5.
Ghazal says her party will hold the balance of power in the context of a Parti Québécois minority government, and she plans to push for investment in Quebec’s public education system, public health system and social programs.
