The province’s police watchdog is investigating a complaint against an Edmonton Police Service officer.
On Aug. 13, a report was made to EPS alleging an officer used excessive force during an incident the previous evening, police said in a Wednesday news release. The complaint was sent to the Police Review Commission, which then directed it to the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.
The officer has been placed in a non-operational role while ASIRT investigates.
