Local golfers got great results as the US Kids Golf Foundation held the tour championship at the Gold Eagle Golf Club on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Four young Maple Ridge golfers finished first or second in their respective age group tour championships on the USKids Vancouver Golf Tour 2026.

Nathan Watson took the boys U7 championship, as he won by nine strokes at Golden Eagle over the weekend, and finished first in his age group on tour. He won all four tournaments he entered.

Tristan Liu captured the U8 championship over a six tournament season. Liu finished second in a field of eight golfers on Sunday, with a score of plus four, and just one stroke out of first. He also won five tour tournaments through September and October.

Kaiwen Jiang of Maple Ridge finished second in the boys 12 division, shooting a one-over-par 73. He also finished second in points on the tour, with four runner-up results including the tour championship.

Kaiqi Jiang of Maple Ridge won the girls eight and under division, shooting one over at the tournament. She also won the tour, with a pair of first-place finishes and three second-place results in tournaments.

U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours are created to allow boys and girls, ages 5 to 18, to advance their golf skills in age-appropriate competition without taking the time and incur the costs of traveling long distances. A local tour consists of six to eight one-day tournaments, including a season-ending one-day local tour championship. Players earn awards and points for each tournament.
