A Toronto restaurant known for putting a modern twist on Nigerian street food has opened a new location in downtown Brampton, bringing suya-grilled meats, loaded rice bowls and Afro-fusion burgers to the city’s growing food scene.
Greelz On Main opened recently at 27 Main Street North, expanding the brand beyond its existing locations in Bloor West Village and Kensington Market.
The restaurant specializes in elevated Nigerian street food, combining traditional West African flavours with familiar dishes such as burgers, wraps and shawarma.
Founded by chef Tolu Okojie, known as Chef TEE, Greelz draws inspiration from the street-food culture of Lagos, Nigeria, with a menu built around suya, a meat seasoned with a bold blend of spices and grilled over heat.
The restaurant describes its approach as bringing authentic Nigerian flavours together with modern cooking techniques and presentation. Its goal is to introduce the cuisine to a broader audience while giving diners familiar ways to experience it.
Among the menu highlights are Agege-style suya burgers, beef and chicken suya wraps, Nigerian-style shawarma and bowls featuring grilled proteins served with jollof rice or fries.
Jollof rice, a popular West African dish cooked with tomatoes, peppers and spices, is another staple. Diners can also find sides such as fried plantains, yam fries, sweet potato fries and Greelz slaw.
The menu includes several grilled protein options, including beef, chicken, lamb and shrimp, with larger combinations available for those looking for a more substantial meal.
Greelz also offers options for diners who prefer plant-based food, although customers should check the current Brampton menu for specific vegetarian and vegan choices.

The new restaurant adds another distinctive dining option to downtown Brampton, where residents and visitors can explore cuisines that reflect the area’s diverse communities.
For diners familiar with Nigerian food, the restaurant offers traditional flavours in contemporary formats. For those trying it for the first time, the burgers, wraps and bowls provide an accessible introduction to ingredients and seasonings that may be less familiar.
The Brampton opening follows the brand’s growth in Toronto, where its Bloor Street and Kensington Market locations have established a presence. Online ordering listings also show demand for signature items such as suya wraps, shawarma and rice bowls.
Greelz On Main offers dine-in and takeout, with delivery available through food-ordering platforms.
The restaurant is open from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and until midnight Thursday through Saturday.
More information and the menu are available at Greelz’s website.
