Wildwood premiered in theatres Oct. 23
How far would you go for the ones you love?
That’s the question the new movie Wildwood poses to its audiences.
Wildwood, which came out on Friday, tells the story of Prue McKeel, whose baby brother is suddenly kidnapped.
She is launched into an unexpected adventure to get him back — finding herself deep in the wilderness, where the people and creatures are caught in a struggle for power.
The PG-13 film is based on a novel of the same name written by Colin Melroy.
By Prue’s side is her classmate Curtis, who is played by Canadian actor Jacob Tremblay.
CBC Kids News contributor Ainara Alleyne sat down with Tremblay in Toronto, Ontario, where he shared what it was like to record Curtis’s voice.
He even shared how he remembers “getting light-headed” in the studio. Watch the video below to see why. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Wildwood has a PG-13 due to themes of violence and suicide-related material.
Tremblay said it’s important for parents and kids to know that there are some darker themes as they go into the film.
However, he said, “we don’t see anything too harsh” in the movie.
“I would say, for me, the biggest comparison is probably like Harry Potter.… A similar level there.”
