A tractor-trailer rolled onto its side in Brampton Thursday morning, prompting road closures around a busy intersection and leaving motorists facing delays.

Peel Regional Police reported a single-vehicle collision at Steeles Avenue and Dixie Road at approximately 9:53 a.m. on Oct. 22.

Police said there were no reported injuries following the crash.

The overturned truck led to several road closures in the area as emergency crews responded to the scene.

Steeles Avenue was closed to westbound traffic at Advance Boulevard, while northbound Dixie Road was closed at Advance Boulevard.

Southbound Dixie Road was also closed at Orenda Road, police said.

Motorists travelling through the area were advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes while the closures remained in effect.

The intersection of Steeles Avenue and Dixie Road is located in an industrial and commercial area of Brampton, where truck traffic is common. The closures could affect drivers travelling through the area for work or deliveries.

Police have not released further details about what caused the tractor-trailer to roll onto its side. It was also not immediately clear how long the road closures would remain in place or when the truck would be removed.

The collision remains a developing situation, and motorists should avoid the affected roads where possible and follow directions from police and other emergency personnel.

No further information was immediately available.
